Design Legacy
Why it endures
The Cleo was the first "It Bag" from the co-creative directorship of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons. It revives the "Spazzolato" (brushed) leather trend of the 1990s. The bag is constructed over a custom last (mold), much like a shoe, which gives it that unique, sloping architectural shape.
Timelessness
It defines the "Quiet Luxury" aesthetic—minimalist, devoid of heavy hardware, and relying entirely on the silhouette. The enamel triangle logo, designed by Miuccia in 1913 as the seal of the House of Savoy, is the only adornment needed.
Did You Know?
The bag is shaped using a custom "last" (a shoemaker's mold), a technique practically unheard of in handbag manufacturing. This allows the bag to hold its sculpted, taut shape indefinitely without collapsing.
